The Most Dangerous Drug

The worst drug I know, is Crystal Meth. Its affects on a human's physical health is what scares me most - using extremely harmful toxins to create a drug that totally overrides your bodily functions, and lowers one's physical health. Also, its extremely addictive - because of that the consequences of taking Crystal Meth are harsh (imprisonment, fine, and social casualties). I know none who have taken this drug,; however from the media, many have gone down...

Carbon Footprint!

Analysis:

Strengths and Weaknesses

To start of this post, I'd like to present my weakness in accordance to the carbon footprint quiz I took quite a while ago. Although aware of the goods, house/food habits, I am oblivious of the damage I'm apparently causing towards our planet. In reference to the above graphs from the carbon footprint website, you could see that my weaknesses match those of and some higher than the country average - changes need to be made, healthier habits need to be taken into action/consideration.

For the past two years, I haven't been a part of the urban hubbub as much as some people are - I instead, walk to places I want to go, and avoid from riding carbon emitting vehicles. Compared to the country average, I'm doing pretty well.

Reflection:
In past classes and schools, I've done such quizzes and have "unknowingly" been monitoring my carbon emitting habits/stats. I believe such quizzes are very helpful in raising awareness of how we as individuals are affecting our only home.

9/3/2010 - Class Discussion

In class, we started off presenting the human health and environmental issues of several substances used in our societies today. All went well (me and my partner discussed the hazards of PLASTICS). Later on, our class held a debate on "Palm Oil...Biodiversity". On one side of the discussion, there were those who were pro "development (economic)"; the other, pro "biodiversity". In the end, it seemed as if those who were pro for development over the importance of saving biodiversity won.
Look forward for more class discussions like this one...
